Mesh-floor carts are fine for firewood, but sand, gravel and topsoil sift right through. A steel floor UTV trailer solves that. The Impact Implements XT1500 1,500 lb cargo trailer with solid sides has a heavy-duty steel frame, a solid steel bed and a tilt-and-dump design for work around the home, farm, ranch and hunt camp.
What the XT1500 steel floor UTV trailer is
Designed in the USA, the XT1500 (SKU IP8215-HD) is a tilt-bed dump cart for off-road machines. It hauls 1,500 lbs with a 15 cubic foot load capacity. The side rails and tailgate are removable, so you can run it as a high-sided box or strip it down for bulky items. A rigid hitch with an up/down pivot lets it roll easily over snow banks, ice, rocks and logs.
It is well suited to farm, agricultural and horticultural projects where loose material has to move from one spot to another.

Which machines can pull it?
The XT1500 solid side cargo trailer is listed for ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, garden tractors and any machine with a pin paddle attachment already installed. The hitch attaches with a hitch pin, and Impact Implements notes that a coupler attachment is now available as well. Because it is not road compatible and tops out at 10 mph, think of it as a property and field trailer.
Solid sides vs. mesh sides: which trailer to choose
Impact Implements makes two 1,500 lb trailers. The Impact Implements poly tub trailer with mesh rails uses a rust-proof polyethylene tub, weighs 120 lbs and is a good fit for firewood, gear and general hauling. The XT1500 has a solid steel bed with 15" side walls and a removable tailgate, which makes it the better pick when you move sand, gravel, dirt, mulch or other loose material. Compare both in our utility trailers collection.
Tips for either trailer:
- Know your weights. Wet gravel and soil reach 1,500 lbs well before the bed looks full.
- Use the tailgate. Remove it when you want material to flow out of the back of the bed as it tips.
- Go slow on side hills and keep the load centered over the axle.
- Keep it maintained. Sealed wheel bearings cut down on upkeep, but it still pays to check tire condition, hardware and the dump latch before a big hauling day.
- Clean out after wet loads. Rinse out mud and clay before it dries in the bed so the next load dumps cleanly.
Pairs well with
Haul gravel with the XT1500, then spread and level it with the Impact Implements 52" plow blade with box ends mounted on the HD hydraulic One-Point Lift System. The 62" landscape rake is handy for finishing the surface. More options are in our ATV/UTV accessories.
