ReadyVision RV WiFi Camera Kit (Heavy-Duty)

Wireless RV Backup Camera: ReadyVision RV WiFi Camera Kit Guide

If you want an RV backup camera without running video cable the length of the coach or adding a dash monitor, the ReadyVision RV WiFi Camera Kit (Heavy-Duty) is built for that job. The camera broadcasts its own Wi-Fi signal straight to an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet through the ReadyVision app. The kit includes mounting brackets for RVs pre-wired for a Furrion camera, a universal bracket, a 30 ft. antenna and a cup holder mount for your device.

What the RV WiFi camera kit does

The heart of the kit is the ReadyVision Heavy-Duty Wi-Fi camera (RVWIFI-HD). It creates its own internal Wi-Fi network, so no dedicated external monitor and no internet service are required. You open the ReadyVision app, connect to the camera, and your phone or tablet becomes the screen. The wireless digital system is rated for a 100 ft. digital wireless range, and the app is responsive and easy to use.

Key features of this wireless RV backup camera

  • Wi-Fi broadcasting: 100 ft. digital wireless range to iOS or Android devices.
  • 150 degree viewing angle: a wide view that reduces blind spots behind the rig.
  • Night vision: eighteen infrared LEDs provide 30 ft. of vision in the dark with no ambient light.
  • IP68 waterproof and shockproof: fully protected against dust and able to withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) for 30 minutes.
  • 12V constant power: powered through a 12V plug, with an AC/DC power supply included.
  • App tools: backup guidelines, image rotation, screenshots, portrait or landscape viewing and a frames-per-second meter.

What comes in the box

The kit is meant to be a complete RV setup. Contents listed for the ReadyVision RV camera kit:

  • 1x RVWIFI-HD camera and 1x ReadyVision camera antenna
  • 1x mounting bracket compatible with RVs pre-wired for a Furrion camera
  • 1x universal mounting bracket (rubber gasket included)
  • 1x 12V power and ground adapter compatible with Furrion pre-wired RVs
  • 1x 12V power lead and 1x AC/DC power supply
  • 1x 30 ft. omnidirectional shielded cable with 7 dBi antenna (VWODS-ANT7)
  • 1x adjustable cup holder phone/tablet mount (VWCUPHM)

A mounting bracket for RVs pre-wired for a Voyager camera is also available upon request (RVWIFI-HDRVV).

Installing an RV backup camera on a pre-wired coach

Many newer RVs come from the factory with a camera pre-wire at the rear cap. If yours is pre-wired for Furrion, the included bracket and 12V power and ground adapter are made for that setup. If your RV is not pre-wired, the universal bracket with its rubber gasket gives you another way to mount the camera, and the 12V power lead lets you tie into a constant 12V source. As a general tip, mount the camera high and centered so the guidelines in the app line up with the rear of the rig, then check the view in the app before tightening everything down.

The 30 ft. antenna cable lets you place the antenna away from the camera body. On a long trailer, running it toward the front can help keep a steady signal to the tow vehicle cab. The same part is sold on its own as the ReadyVision 30 ft. Antenna Extension.

Not just for RVs

The same kit works well for blind spots and backup monitoring on heavy equipment and for long-term stationary uses like loading and unloading at grain bins and storage facilities. If you only need the camera for farm or shop use, the standalone ReadyVision Heavy-Duty WiFi Camera is the same camera with a magnet base and universal mount. For hitching up to a gooseneck or moving a camera between vehicles, take a look at the rechargeable ReadyVision Battery Powered Wi-Fi Camera.
