Visionworks 7" Standard Monitor Kit

Tractor Backup Camera Guide: Visionworks 7" Standard Monitor Kit

Backing a tractor up to an implement, a trailer or a gate is a lot easier when you can actually see what's back there. The Visionworks 7" Standard Monitor Kit is a portable tractor backup camera system that puts a 7" monitor in front of you and a magnetic 700 TVL camera on the back of the machine. It is built to cover blind spots on tractors, trucks and other work equipment.

What the Visionworks 7" kit is

This is Visionworks' standard 7" camera kit (Part # VWIC700). It includes their standard 700 TVL camera on a 30 ft. cable, which is long enough for many tractors and trucks. The monitor has two camera inputs and lets you toggle between two camera views using the remote included in the kit, and it supports dual viewing. You can power it with the cigarette lighter adapter or hard-wire it into your system, and Visionworks provides an install video with the product photos.

What's included

  • 7" standard LCD monitor and bracket (VW700M)
  • Standard wired camera with 65 lb. magnet (VWCAM4)
  • 30 ft. cable (VW30PV4)
  • 2-port harness (VWHR7M)
  • Cigarette lighter adapter (VW12VCA)
  • Remote

Who the 7" kit fits best

The longer 30 ft. cable makes this kit a good match for full-size tractors, farm trucks, and equipment where the camera sits farther from the cab. The bigger 7" screen is easier to read at a glance than a smaller monitor, and the second input lets you add a camera for another blind spot, like a hitch view and a side view, and switch between them with the remote. For a compact machine with a short cable run and three inputs, look at the Visionworks 5" Skid Steer Special Heavy Duty Monitor Kit instead.

How to install a tractor backup camera

  • Place the camera. Set the magnetic camera on a flat steel surface at the rear where it can see the hitch or work area. Test the view before you route the cable.
  • Route the cable. Run the 30 ft. cable along the frame to the cab, keeping it away from moving parts, the three-point hitch, the PTO and hot exhaust. Secure it with ties.
  • Mount the monitor. Put the bracket somewhere you can see it easily without blocking your view. The monitor is not weatherproof, so keep it protected in an enclosed cab, or take it in when the machine sits outside.
  • Power up. Use the cigarette lighter adapter for a quick setup, or hard-wire to a 12-24V source.
  • Watch the install video included in the product photos on the 7" monitor kit page if you want to see the steps.
