Highlands Can Am Commander Weatherproof Bed Cover

Can-Am Commander Bed Cover: Highlands Weatherproof Cargo Box

The Commander's cargo bed is useful, but anything left in it is exposed to rain, dust and anyone walking by. The Highlands Can Am Commander Weatherproof Bed Cover by MotoAlliance closes that bed up with a sealed, lockable box. If you're looking for a Can-Am Commander bed cover for a 2021 or newer machine, here are the fitment details and features.

What the Highlands Commander cargo box is

Highlands designed this cover for serious off-road riders. It has a sleek profile without giving up cargo capacity. The cover is watertight and dustproof, so gear stays dry and clean, and it is molded from impact-resistant, low-density polyethylene to handle rough terrain. An internal mounting system with lockable latches keeps it secure on the machine.

What a Commander bed cover is good for

  • Weekend trail rides: keep coolers, tools and spare clothes free of dust.
  • Hunting trips: lock up packs and gear while you're in the stand.
  • Property work: keep hand tools and supplies out of the rain between jobs.

Installing the bed cover

Highlands covers use an internal mounting system, so the hardware sits inside the box rather than hanging off the outside. A few general tips:

  • Start with a clean bed. Clear out mud, leaves and loose gear so the cover sits evenly.
  • Follow the instructions. Installation instructions are linked on the Highlands Commander bed cover product page. Read through the steps before you start and check the fit before tightening anything down.
  • Check the latches. Open and close the lid a few times and make sure the lockable latches line up and close cleanly.
  • Re-check after a few rides. Rough trails shake things loose, so look over the mounting points after the first few trips.

Care tips: rinse mud and grit off the lid and latch area after a dirty ride so the latches keep working smoothly, and avoid stacking heavy loads on top of the closed lid. Inside the box, a few tie-downs or small bins keep tools from sliding around on rough trails. Every so often, empty the box and wipe it out so dirt does not build up in the corners.

The Commander cover uses Style 5 anchors, not the Style 2 anchors used by some other Highlands covers. Replacements are available under SKU JC_Anchor_5 (Qty. 4).
