Potholed gravel drives and uneven dirt pads are easier to fix when you can pull a blade behind the machine you already own. The Impact Implements 52" Plow Blade with Box Ends is an ATV grading blade built for grading driveways, clearing brush, leveling dirt and backfilling.
What the 52" box end blade is
This is a 3-position rear blade (SKU IP4447_BK) that mounts behind an ATV, UTV, side-by-side, garden tractor or lawn tractor. The two boxed ends hold material in front of the blade, so gravel and dirt get carried and spread instead of spilling off the sides. You can apply down pressure through the lift for customized cutting and leveling.

What it mounts to
On an ATV or UTV, pin the 52" box end blade to the Impact Implements manual One-Point Lift System or the Impact Implements HD hydraulic One-Point Lift System. The hydraulic lift lets you raise and lower the blade from the seat with a switch, which is handy when you are making many passes on a long drive. Garden tractors can use a CAT-0 3-point hitch or sleeve hitch.
Beyond driveways, the blade is useful for clearing brush, leveling dirt around buildings and back filling trenches or low spots. On hunting properties, it can help smooth out rough woods roads and knock down the ridges left after heavy rain.
How to grade a driveway with an ATV blade
- Start straight. Set the blade square and make a pass to pull material out of the high spots.
- Angle to move material. Use the 12° angle to roll gravel toward the center of the drive or away from ditches.
- Use the box ends to carry. With the boxed ends on, the blade carries a load from high spots and drops it into low spots.
- Light passes win. Several shallow passes give a smoother surface than one deep cut.
- Grade when the ground is right. Gravel and dirt move more evenly when slightly damp than when bone dry or muddy.
- Crown the drive. A slight crown in the center helps rain run off to the sides instead of pooling and cutting new potholes.
- Flip the edge. When the cutting edge wears, reverse it; replace it when both sides are worn.
Pairs well with
Need more gravel? The Impact Implements XT1500 steel floor trailer hauls sand, gravel and dirt without it sifting through the floor. After grading, the 62" landscape rake cleans up the edges. The blade also helps knock down ridges and level ground before a food plot. See the full line in our Impact Implements collection and more add-ons in ATV/UTV accessories.
