Smucker Weed Wiper 20 FT. Front Bucket

Covering Big Fields with a Smucker 20 ft Weed Wiper for Tractors

On larger pastures and hay fields, pass width matters. The Smucker 20 ft front bucket weed wiper is the widest tractor-mounted wiper we carry, built for owners who want to treat tall weeds across big acreage in fewer trips. This 20 ft weed wiper for tractors mounts to your loader bucket with the included brackets and is pump fed to keep all eight sponges wet.

How a tractor weed wiper fits large acreage

A weed wiper applies herbicide by contact. The sponges on the tool bar are wetted with herbicide, and only plants tall enough to touch them are treated. Set the bar just above your grass or crop and you can target weeds that have grown above the stand. On large fields, a wide wiper means fewer passes, less time in the seat and less traffic on the ground. As always, follow the herbicide label for mixing and any wiper or wick application directions.

A 10 ft center with folding 5 ft wings

The 20 ft model is built from a 10 ft center section and two 5 ft wings. Smucker notes the wings can fold forward or backward depending on how you mount the tool bar. Folding the wings narrows the unit for gates, lanes and storage, then you open them back up for full 20 ft coverage in the field.

What is included (Part # WWTCFB20)

  • Two front bucket mounting brackets and two front bucket mounting bracket tabs
  • A 10' tool bar bracket and two 5' wings
  • Eight 30" sponge assemblies
  • An 8-port manifold for the 20' Top Crop
  • 100 ft of black 1/4" solid tubing, 22 hose clamps and 11 T riser assemblies
  • Wing pins (RC pins), bolts, nuts, lock washers, nylon ties and a user's manual

Pump and sprayer requirements

Like every Smucker wiper we sell, a sprayer is not included with this kit. Smucker recommends a minimum 3 GPM pump for the 20 ft front bucket model. You will need to supply your own tank and pump and plumb it to the 8-port manifold with the 100 ft of tubing provided. Check your pump's flow rating before your first trip to the field so all eight sponges stay evenly supplied.

Tips for running a 20 ft tractor wiper

  • Pick your wing fold direction before mounting the tool bar to the bucket.
  • Use the loader to hold a consistent height above your desirable plants. On a wide bar, uneven ground shows up more at the wing tips, so watch both ends.
  • Prime every sponge before starting so the full 20 ft width is wet.
  • Drive at a steady, moderate speed and consider a return pass in the opposite direction on heavy weed stands.
  • Fold the wings for transport and clean the system after use according to the herbicide label.

Is 20 ft the right size?

If your fields have tight corners, lots of trees or narrow lanes, a smaller wiper may be easier to handle. The 15 ft front bucket wiper also uses folding wings with a 5 ft center, and the 10 ft front bucket wiper works with a 1.8 GPM minimum pump. For open pasture and hay ground, the 20 ft model gives you the most coverage per pass.
